Sunday School

I love Sunday.  It seems like there's always a great "List Post" out in blogland somewhere.  Today stumbled upon one over at  Between Naps on the Porch. This one originated from the "Look Who's Talking" section in Garden and Gun magazine - and yes there is actually a magazine called Garden and Gun - who knew?????  I guess it has been too long since I lived in the south.  Anyway, the article was about Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic fame. Susan (that's BNOTP's real name) answered the questions herself and suggested that we answer them ourselves in the comments section.

I couldn't resist.

Now I would love for you to do the same.  All you have to do is cut and paste the list (below) into the comments section and answer.
 Here is my list...

1. Favorite Cocktail: Wine.
2. Favorite Getaway: Long getaway: wine tasting in Napa   Short getaway: wine tasting in northern Michigan
Mission Penninsula, Michigan

Napa Valley, California
3. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be? Barbara Kingsolver
4. Daydream of the moment: I dream of spring. It has been a mild winter but spring is on my mind.  Spring means dogwood blooms, and hydrangeas, and walking my garden every morning.
5. Your personality in one word: Whole-hearted
6. Are you more garden or gun?  GARDEN.  (this makes me wonder - does GUN in the title of the magazine really mean GUN?????)
7. If you were road-tripping, what's the one album you'd take with you?  really the "Outlander" playlist that my sister made for me,  but if I didn't have that I would take Adele's 19 and 21.
8. What are you reading? Trying desperately to finish An Echo In The Bone by Diana Gabaldon so I can read Hunger Games and be ready for the movie. (I'm on page 534!!)
9. What do you want to do when you grow up? I've had several careers.  I'm trying to evolve into a self-employed person and I don't know the end of that story yet.  We are trying not to go broke in the process.
10. What is your greatest extravagance?  Guilty Pleasure? - Extravagance? Being funemployed. Buying good paint.  Guilty pleasure?  Ice cream.  And cake.  And cookies.  And pie.  And big plates of homemade pasta.
11. Favorite Southern Food? Bread pudding.  Oh - and red velvet cake.  And coconut cake.
12. Most treasured possession?  I have too many things - they don't really matter.  I treasure my husband, my kids, my mind and my talents
13. Favorite Southern name? I typed Olivia then Googled it and apparently it is not a southern name.  From the extensive list I picked Eugenia - because I LOVED Eugenia Price's books when I read them many years ago.
14. What talent would you most like to have? I would like to be able to perform.  I was always able to sing but could never perform.  I've always felt like that in a past life I must have been a African American, country western singer.  Actually, now I would just like my damaged vocal chords to be able to sing A and B above middle C again.- missing those notes kind of messes up my car singing flow.  I also sing when I am sanding - does anyone else do that?
15. What's your current state of mind? I'm in a coffee drinkin, relaxin, readin and writin state of mind.  And I am content. Really content.

Now it is your turn.
1. Favorite Cocktail:
2. Favorite Getaway:
3. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?
4. Daydream of the moment:
5. Your personality in one word?
6. Are you more garden or gun?  .
7. If you were road-tripping, what's the one album you'd take with you?
8. What are you reading?
9. What do you want to do when you grow up?
10. What is your greatest extravagance?  Guilty Pleasure?
11. Favorite Southern Food?
12. Most treasured possession?
13. Favorite Southern name?
14. What talent would you most like to have?
15. What's your current state of mind?

After you send me your list - Make something wonderful today!

Karen, I loved the pics accompanied with the answers...great post! Yep, gun really means gun. Those articles are about the "hunting" traditions in the south. I couldn't shoot a flea, but I do love the magazine. The stories are always "feel good" stories rooted in history and tradition.
