Good Day Sunshine!

It is truly a weird spring here in Michigan - and that is fine by me.  I'm pretty sure that I can accurately say that I have never seen my grass on March 13.  Typically if there is a nice sunny day in March, it just means that one or two of the 12 inches of packed snow on my lawn melts down.   This year I can count the times my lawn has even had snow on it on one hand.  We have had tons of rain, just very little snow.  It never did get really cold either.  Today it is above 60 degrees for the 3rd time in the last week.  Go figure.

I say all of this because normally, no matter how many Spring Mantel Par-tays are out there I would feel like an idiot putting out a spring mantel scape.  But the nice weather motivates me to get the birds out of the basement and let them come out to play - and head out to a few parties with the girls.

Spring may be early but there is certainly no GREEN outside.  I added the oil painting - painted by Mr Quirky's great-grandmother - for a little green.

I like to use the nests that we find in our trees - they make a mess but I love the architecture.

Throw in a few corbels that never made it out of the Living Room after Christmas.

Maybe sometime before my summer mantel I will get motivated to finish my "mantel extension" - Maybe.

See you at the party!

Make something wonderful today.

Love the colours in the painting and it's a really lovely collection of pieces.
I love this mantle makeover thing I see on blogs. Unfortunately I don't have a mantle to makeover. I'll have to find a substitute!

We've had the same strange winter here in the Northeast. I kept waiting for the big one, but so far... It is still March after all. ;~)

Love the whole mantle! We never get nests that nice in our trees. So jealous! Stopping by from WOW and newly following. Thanks for sharing your lovely spring vignette!
