Pinterest Schminterest ! I'm a bad Pinterester. Yes, I occasionally enjoy looking at pictures of pretty decor. Yes, I really enjoy thinking about eating
making some of the fabulous recipes. I also believe it is a time suck
and it can create discontent. My boards are erratic at best.
Typically within minutes of arriving, I am pulled into the vortex of quotations. I LOVE quotations. They mean everything to me. I can read them over and over again. They inspire me way beyond any picture of beautiful furniture. So, at least once a week I let myself fall into quotation heaven. This means that I don't get much else accomplished in Pinterestland.

Fortunately, I have a friend and a
sister who keep "things for Karen" boards. It's like I have my own
Pinterest spies out there. This is a good thing. They know what I like
and seem to be better than I am at discovering little gems for my
imagination.
Between the three of us I occasionally do
discover something or an idea that I know without a shadow of a doubt
that I WILL MAKE. Thus, I have a "things I WILL make" board. But, alas,
I have not actually MADE any of them. That was - until now. Now - there
is a party coming up that I have to get ready for. On March 27 the
ladies from Thistlewood Farm, the space between, The Cottage Market, it all started with paint, and Eclectically Vintage are having an It's a
Cinch Party. I think this means "get off your butt and make those easy
peasy projects you have pinned!"
So I have promised
myself that I will do one project per day until the party starts.
Because remember they are supposed to be easy peasy....we will see how
that goes. Oh, and they need to be cheap. I'm saving my money for a
road trip to go buy chalk paint.
Yesterday I made this:
This pin was courtesy of the brilliant Ashley @ make it and love it.
I have an old suitcase in the office all set up as a charging station,
but most of the time I like to charge my phone in the room where I am. I
thought this would be perfect for charging in those outlets that don't
have a table or counter top close by.
Ashley has a fabulous tutorial with all the steps clearly described, so I'm not going to reinvent the wheel
here. The object of this party prep is to get the project done - not
spend all morning writing. However, I will do a (mostly) wordless tutorial with
my photoshop free pictures (remember we are saving time here).
Remember this fabric? It is from Quirky Son's dresser |
This is ModPodge by the way.....thought it was in the pic, but actually no. |
Probably would have been good if I straightened it up! Oh well. It is done. Like toast.

This is sooo brilliant and easy! When i see this stuff i feel so dumb for not thinking of it myself! I tackled a Pinterest project yesterday, you can see it on my blog today!
Karen, that's a fantastic project! I love it! Since I deleted my Pinterest I am guilty of not visiting there much....I can see I am missing out on some great ideas! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Karen,
I suffer from the same problem. I have many Pinterest projects lined up for "that day" when I don't have other things to do or take care of. But that day never seems to come. I think it will be one of those Pinterest challenges that kicks me into high gear.
Love what you did with the lotion bottle. Looks great!

Ooohh... Can I get one of these? The shelf one I have lets it slide off easily.
P.s. more coffee cans for you...
I LOVE THIS IDEA!
Thanks for popping by my place!

I love this. What an amazing project! I had pinned this on my board and now you have inspired me again!
Thanks for linking up to the party.

Yeah, I say, to the EH PROJECT blog! You've echoed my sentiments exactly~which in turn gives me plently of leeway to make my own EHs. I've amassed more cookbooks, and recipes and sometimes the results are EH. Same with projects. I can no more quit creating than I can quit cooking!! Many Thanks
