Lola Style

Last week while I was in Chicago, I took a little day trip to downtown Morris.  Downtown Morris is home to a bevy of beautiful shops.  My favorite was Lola's.  What I liked about Lola's is that it is filled with stuff that is old and quirky - not stuff that was manufactured yesterday to look old.  The companion blog to Lola's is LivingLolaStyle.com.  You will like it.

I was completely charmed by this Finel Enamelware pitcher.   I had never seen anything like it.  I love the simple shape.

So I bought it.

It is missing a handle.

That's the only reason it was affordable.

I did a little research to see what it might look like with the handle.
I only found one image.

If looks are all I consider, I think it looks just as good without the handle as it does with it.

I can't seem to relocate the Pinterest board where I found this picture of the intact pitcher.  So I can't give you a source.

I hope I don't get sued.

There's only one problem....

Oh well, I've got a jar that fits inside just fine!

These hydrangeas are Blushing Bride.  They were the second in the series of ever-bloomers in the Endless Summer series.  99% of the time they bloom white and just have a blush of pink.  I really like the green in some of the blooms I am getting this year - but I have absolutely no idea why they are doing this!  Makes me wonder what they will dry like.  I'm just glad I'm getting any blooms at all, after all the damage they got this spring

I think they are smashing in enamelware from Finland!

Make something wonderful today!

Karen, this is so pretty handle or not. Beautiful simple design and almost a one of a kind which is what I love. I use jars inside of leaky things all the time. Works just fine. As far as getting sued, according to my clients who are all lawyers, if you are not doing this for financial gain, most likely the worst that can happen is they ask you to take down the post. However, I think (and I am not a lawyer) if something gets put on the internet it's pretty fair game for others to use. It's a hard thing to police. After talking to real lawyers about this very topic, I am not as concerned as I used to be.

I planted Blushing Bride this year and so far it has made out alright, despite the fact that we had almost no discernable rain this summer. That pitcher looks great!
