Some Stuff About Spring

So I just want to say a few things ...

I fight being angry with all you guys who live in places who really are seeing signs of spring. If I say anything else I may start to rant. Or cry. Or scream. Or start driving south.

Nobody told me that when I got my braces off I would have to spend TWICE the amount I spent on braces (which was certainly enough) to fix all the problems that living with crammed in teeth for 54 years created.

I may be on my way to perfect teeth, but I may NEVER get a new couch.

I saw Silver Linings Playbook on Saturday. I can't stop thinking about it.

Before I saw Silver Linings Playbook on Saturday, I wondered how Bradley Cooper could possibly have been nominated for a best actor Oscar.

Now I know. He was amazing!

Not Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln amazing. But amazing.

Man, there were some stinking gorgeous dresses at the Oscars Sunday night!

Did I mention that I am anxious for spring?

Did I mention that it is going to snow, then rain, then snow here this week?

I'm thinking a lot about finishing the redo of my dining room. A lot.

I'm not progressing very quickly on the projects to finish out my dining room.

I only want to finish my dining room because when I finish I can move on to the living room.

I really want to have a fresh for spring living room.

The way I know spring is here is this - sometime around April 20 there will be a day. A day when the sun wakes me up. A day that the sky shines BLUE instead of grey. And best of all, a day that the clouds open up and choirs sing from the heavens. You know the sound. Just like the chorus that sang when I finally finished my china cabinet

I love that choir.

Don't get me wrong. We can't plant here until after Mother's Day.

But that doesn't mean that I won't be in the garden, rubbing my fingertips over the soil feeling for little points that mean that hostas will be sprouting soon.

And I will be waiting with bated breath to see if my beloved Dissectum Atropurpureum Japanese Maple has recovered from the trauma of last spring and summer.

If not I will be very sad. I will be really sad. I will be horribly sad. Very, really, horribly sad.

Please spring, come soon...

This is a bonus thought. I stumbled upon a few new blogs this week that I have been intrigued by. They are all very different but I think you might enjoy them.

First - Little Green Notebook. So I live under a rock and had never been to this blog which was voted #1 in one of the Homies categories over at Apartment Therapy. This chick has a talent. I've been connected to her blog for 5 days straight. She's probably very afraid of this strange stalker.

Second - 3 Things for Mom. A number of contributing authors share A Truth, A Tip, A Find. You don't have to be a mom to take something from these posts.

Third - Flower Patch Farm Girl who may be the sweetest person in blogland. She loves and makes it impossible for you not to love her back.

Make something wonderful today!

Karen I can't say I understand your type of winter but it has been a horrible winter here in sunny central Cali, but I could use some tips on how you survive the winter blues. My son is spending his 1st winter in Connecticut and he's not doing so well any suggestions?

We are just ending our hottest February in years. The garden has struggled.
I thought Bradley Cooper was amazing in Silver Linings Playbook too! x

Your photos are amazing! I'll be back to see your gardens in the summer, but for now this will tide me over as I look out at our 2 feet of snow and ice on the ground. :)

To me, that choir is the sound of birds in the morning. Can't get enough of that.

You must be in the same zone as I, zone 5? It's snowing pretty darn good as I type this and I have a nasty head cold. Spring? Please? The pictures of your gardens & plants are so so pretty! Wish mine were as nice, but something always seems to ruin them just as they start to come into their own. :(

Just killing time now by working on craft projects that don't require spray paint.

By days end I will have checked out the new blogs you recommend. Because I need more blogs to read to keep me from finishing my own dining room. Spring ain't coming here for a while yet, I've got time.

You always make me smile, thank you. I've "had it" with the dreariness of winter myself and not just because of the rain, sleet, snow and cold but other personal things as well. I really, really need to be awakened on a Saturday morning by the sun gleaming through my bedroom window, shining so brightly in my eyes that I feel slightly (just slightly) annoyed. I *heart* Bradley Cooper so now I must see his new movie. :) Hang in there!!!

If I had any say in it, I would send you some warm sunny days . . . while I was doing it, I would send myself some too. The photography on this post is outstanding; I especially love the photo of the pink dogwoods.
Here's to an early spring:)
