More Random Stuff

Hello! Hello! Hello!

I'm sure you are all afraid I fell off a cliff or something. So I thought I would post a little update.

I've been busy.

I helped a friend paint her living room. That took a few days. It is beautiful. I have no pictures. Yet. We think we will do a little reveal sometime next month. We did the painting kind of spur of the moment because the upholsterer came to pick up her couch to cover it and she wanted to paint while the couch was out of the room. When the couch gets back you can see the paint. Get ready. It's exciting. I'm excited. Can you tell?

We had a little help.

But she is a novice. And lazy.

I did a little remake of my Love One Another Subway Art. It is a wedding gift for my son. I didn't tell you but he eloped in January. His wedding reception is Saturday so I needed to get it done to bring with me. I'll probably talk a little bit more about that later as well. Potentially exciting stuff.

This picture is of the first one. I'll take a picture of the new one tomorrow.

Because of said reception, I was on the road this week. It was an unexciting trip in most senses of the word. When you are driving 1100 miles by yourself, unexciting is a good thing.

I'm easy to please when I'm on a solo road trip. Listening to my favorite music and singing really loud makes me happy. Even when I don't know the words. I just say lalala and da, and ohh, and dododo, and bopbopbop. I sang the entire score of Les Miserables with half words and half ladaohhdobops. When I have company I cannot do this. Mr. Quirky doesn't like it when I do that. So silly. And it sucks.

The best thing about driving 1100 miles southwest in March is the sunshine. Once I get to St Louis I can usually count on some lovely sunshine. Sunshine, glorious sunshine! Even on a cloudy day, when raindrops appeared from nowhere several times, the sky still looks like this:

Skies like this make me smile. A lot.

In Oklahoma, where I am now, the temperatures have been over 80 degrees. Yum.  Tomorrow, for the reception, it is going to be 75. Sunday it is going to be 40 degrees. Hmm. This weather thing is something that happens every time. I brought clothes for everything from 32 to 85 degrees. I'm smart. And I carry a big suitcase.

In addition to sunny skies I always enjoy the cheap gas prices.

And Love's. And QuikTrips. I don't drink soda (or pop) except when I am driving 1100 miles by myself. Then I get to drink Diet Dr Pepper from the fountain. (I challenge you to find Diet Dr Pepper at the fountain anywhere north of Ohio) I hit the first Love's somewhere in Ohio and I'm pretty dang happy from then on. I wanted to give equal representation for QuickTrip but I didn't manage to get a picture. Please don't be sad.

I also tried to take some pictures of the sun. You know, so if you are from where I'm from you could be reminded what it looks like. But I can't. I can't take pictures of the sun. It is too bright. So sad for you.

So. That's all that is going on. And why I haven't posted. There's a whole lot of really good blogs out there that are certainly picking up my slack. Hope you are enjoying them!

I'm off to go help get the reception ready. And spend some time with my beautiful son. That's what I have always called him "beautiful son". He has always been a beautiful person and I have always wanted him to know that I see that. I love having a beautiful son. I love him.

Make something wonderful today!

Karen

I guess I just assumed you were packing in the alcohol for Haven! Congratualtions to your beautiful son--and yay for you! (Especially the Dr. Pepper part.)

Congratulations to your son and his new wife. I think you are fearless to drive that far by yourself. I have never even considered driving that far alone. Now I have a new aspiration thanks to you. Enjoy the reception.

You made that subway art?! It is gorgeous! I'm not a pop drinker either, but Diet Dr. Pepper from a fountain does sound good. Hope you had a great time at your beautiful son's reception! :-)

Oh Karen, I can't believe I wasn't following you... or if I was it must be through that linky followers thing that I never use cause it irritates me that nobody ever hits the updated post button. I don't even do it anymore.

You make me laugh so hard. Love you.

Following through Bloglovin. Because that's where I follow people now. EVERYBODY. All 2000 blogs I follow... but I love yours the best - truly! xox
