Don't you love that song? The version that runs in my mind over and over is the one from Sister Act 2. My heart just jumps around in my chest when I hear it. Then I remember Joyful, Joyful from Sister Act 1 and I'm a goner. I'm certain to my core that I could totally rock a nun's habit and direct those choirs like Whoopi did.
But I digress.
Today is a happy day because it is gorgeous outside and I finally finished the shelves I've been making for my dining room. They didn't really take that long to make. I just made them take too long.
First they lived in my mind for 6 months.
Then I started cleaning up the old metal crown molding. You know - the kind that goes around edges of the room when you have a tin ceiling.
It was rusty.
And dirty.
And chippy.
And really quite lovely.
But messy.
Very messy.
So I cleaned that molding and swept up all the rust and paint that fell aside.
And somehow it wasn't quite as lovely any more.
It deserved to be more.
So it got cut.
And IT became THEY.
Then they got pounded,
painted,
and waxed.
And waxed again.
And got some other things that are not so dignified.
But don't worry about those things, because I will tell you all about them tomorrow. When I tell you all about how to make Vintage Metal Crown Molding Shelving.
Now I'm going outside to play.
Make something wonderful today!
