Christmas Dining Room

Happy 12 days until Christmas!!

I used 2 exclamation points today. Because Christmas is sooooooooo close.

Today I'm showing you my dining room.

About 18 months ago I started redoing my dining room.

But once I got the room painted and painted the china cabinet I lost steam.

I did build the awesome vintage crown molding shelves and hang them.

By then there was no steam at all.

No steam for the table. Or the chairs. Or the other cabinet that needs painting.

Oh yea, I did change out the curtains.

And raise the curtain rod.

I even took pictures so I could do a tutorial for how to convert garage sale curtains from one hanging style to another hanging style.

And how to move your curtain rod quickly and easily.

But the pictures disappeared. As if I never took them. They are nowhere. No. Where.

So if you want to know any of those things I guess you'll just have to Google it.

Usually my dining room is stuffed with projects. My tablescapes consist of yesterdays mail, the book I am currently reading, and blobs of hot glue that have gathered from my latest project.

I love it when the table is cleared off.

It makes me want to go to the couch, sit down, and never do anything again.

Because it seems as if all I have to do is move and it is messed up again.

(this is just an aside, but doesn't that girl angel remind you of Miss Mustard Seed?)

This glammed up dining room is giving me steam.

Steam for the table, and the brown cabinet, and the chairs.

In fact you could say that I'm all steamed up about my dining room.

I love it with the pink.

I love the pine cone tree that I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Antionette. With little white snow tips and silver glitter.

I put the snow balls in here this year in hopes that my dear kitten wouldn't be able to reach them.

Little did I know that he wouldn't give a flip for them, but that he would be fascinated with the little pieces of fake greenery and eat as if it were delicious then throw it up all over the floor.

I guess I need to buy him a Chia pet. You know, the kind that grows cat grass.

Bless his heart. Sometimes he just doesn't have the sense God gave a billygoat.  Actually that's not true. It's just one of those phrases that your mother used to say that comes to your mind occasionally.

After I finish the dining room I think I will scape my table.

And vow to never use it for another project again.

That will last about 3 days.

I guess that means I will have to clean the basement.

Is your dining room decorated?

Is your table scaped?

Do you have a secret source for vintage pink Christmas decorations?

I've been collecting for 2 years. It is a small collection.

I want more. More. MORE!!!

Make something wonderful today!

love all your touches especially the boa's on the light. your post made me chuckle! fortunately I don't do clutter on the table cause it's the first room you see when you walk into the house. I save it for a back room. Happy holidays.

Have a good weekend - do nothing but enjoy that cleaned up DR!

The feathers in the light look awesome and snowy. Love that. And yes, the little angel does in fact look like MMS!

Your dining room looks so inviting. I love the black and white scheme, and your decorations look absolutely beautiful.
At the moment my dining room table has papers and stuff and a hot glue gun on it !!
