Winter Mantel

Hello kids!

I've put away my Christmas decorations!

And I'm really happy about it.

Even though I'm not one of those people who gets excited to see the clutter go away.

I love the clutter.

It's clutter with a purpose.

And we had a sunny day yesterday.

Real sun.

Not Michigan winter sun where the clouds are bright with a peak of light blue behind it.

Bright sun. With almost no clouds.

I thought I would take advantage of that sun to get pictures of my mantel.

And my pine cone wreath that I had not been able to get good pictures of.

So I put a few things together so the poor mantel wouldn't be naked.

Naked mantels are a little shameful.

Not completely shameful because that would be reserved for Sanford and Sons back porches and totally out of control basements.

Not that I feel particularly ashamed.

I mean . . . WHO CARES???

I don't really like it.

But it doesn't matter.

Because spring will come.

And I am determined to do the spring mantel I've been wanting to do for a few springs now.

Please don't die with anticipation.

Oh - I was pretty excited about getting to use this lovely mercury glass ball that my MIL gave me for Christmas. It has lights. Which help me transition out of my CLH addiction.

Nice huh?

You kids have a nice day.

And make something wonderful!

Karen

I'm having trouble leaving comments on blogs, so I hope this time my comment sticks! I love your pine cone trees on your mantel, and your new mercury glass ball is so pretty! Enjoy your mantel, Karen!
