Spring Cleaning

I'm a  little MIA these days.

My failure to do my spring cleaning in January has created a need to spring clean in -

duh -

spring.

I have a visitor coming over today so I thought I would clean off the guest room bed. She's not sleeping here or anything, but I it seemed like it would be nice if I could clean a little.

I realized that if I put one more thing in the basement I won't be able to walk through it.

I already can't use my work table.

It's just a mess.

A real mess.

Thus I have no lovely little things to show you today.

Or tomorrow, probably.

I'll just be here.

Cleaning.

And dreaming of green things.

And on a sadder note - not that you can get much sadder than cleaning the basement -

This weekend I will be holding a funeral

For a tree.

What used to be the glory of my back yard -

in the summer -

and in the fall -

is now this -

Good-bye old tree.

I love you.

Oh Karen, so sorry for your tree - I know the feeling after losing 3 white birches. Maybe you can save a branch and make votive holders or at least graduated risers for a display? That's what I did - it doesn't hurt that white birch is pretty to look at, dead or alive.

Lol, your basement looks a lot like mine - organized chaos. And I am reading blogs instead of getting down there and trying to fill more bags to donate (I'll wait for a rainy day).

Nothing like having company to get you to clean house, huh?

Oh, I am so sorry about the gorgeous tree.

I did not finish my March list, but I got most of it done - all but the painting. It was no fun to clean and purge the attic, but it looks so good now as does the garage.

Cleaning is one of those thankless jobs because after all your work, it just looks like it should and it is only noticeable when you don't do it.

Have fun with your friend,

Oh no! What a georgeous tree! What happened? Did the winter ice get it? Are you sure it won't come back if you prune it? Have not idea about cultivating plants.

My spring cleaning has been going on for 2 months and any progress I make only seems to trigger new things to do.
Why is it always the trees that we like that die? The big ol' nuisance trees that overgrow and shed pods & pollen live on forEVer.

I am so sorry about the tree! It was so beautiful! It will be sad to see your backyard without it. Good luck with cleaning the basement!

Its so sad when a wonderful tree dies. I had one similar die. Only thing I could figure out was wind/winter damage.

Thanks for visiting. I so know the path through the storage areas story.

Loved your garland/banner/bunting eggs and bunnies. That is how I feel about 'calling' the triangles I sew on to some bias tape. I like the work bunting but ...
