Did your parents ever ask you if your were raised in a barn?
Mine did.
I'm not sure why.
I'd never even BEEN in a barn!
Before this little dresser was moved to my garage 2 years ago, it had spent the previous forty or fifty years in a barn.
So in essence this dresser was raised in a barn.
Poor thing.
She was quite dirty and a little cranky, too.
She needed a good bath.
Well not just a bath.
A really good scrubbing. With sand paper.
Then she got 2 nice coats of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Flow Blue.
Then she was really bright and shiny.
Loud, you might say.
Too loud for a petite little thing like this dresser.
So I gave her a couple of coats of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint White Wax.
Now she's a bathing beauty.
I hope she gets to live the rest of her life on the beach.
After being cooped up inside for the last forty years . . .
She deserves it.
Bless her heart.
And by the way. Those knobs are from Hobby Lobby. The starfish were bronzy. I painted them white.
Have you ever met a dresser that lived in a barn for 40 years?
How did you teach her manners?

Love her!
I also love the knobs, but no Hobby Lobby anywhere near me.
Being into all things beachy lately, I love this! You've also reminded me that I think I have some blue milk paint. Do you need me to take you to a barn this weekend?
You have turned her into a stunner.
Thanks for sharing
Lots of blessings from South Africa
Beautiful job! You'd never know she was in a barn for 40 years :)
Great job on the dresser-so pretty now and it doesn't look like it was raised in a barn any more!
This is a great transformation - love the color and the knobs are perfect. Would look great in a beach cottage. Cathy
This turned out beautiful! I need to find two night stands to restore!
She's beautiful!!! I love this color
Wow, a gorgeous dresser to start out with and now she is a shining star!
Wow Karen, what a stunning makeover! You gave this poor neglected old gal a brand new life. Love the color - love the white wax (need to get me a jar of that).

JUST STUNNING Karen!!! Lovely finish! Love the lighter blue over the darker color. Really pretty!
I have yet to try the white wax, and this dresser is such an inspiration! I love the finish it gives. Beautiful!
Yup, got that barn thing growing up too. So sad that she was hiding out for so long! Love her curves and she turned into a real beauty. The white wax really made a difference!
hugs,
Jann
She is so pretty. You did a great job fixing her up, she was in such sad shape before.
You did a great job! She is so pretty and not cranky any longer!
It looks lovely in that soft beachy blue.
