I bought this dresser at another estate sale a couple of months ago. We painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a 2 to 1 mix of French Linen and Old White. The dresser looks mostly grey, but out in the sun it has some taupe tendencies. The accent painting was done in Old White.
The top of the dresser was sanded down to bare wood and stained with Minwax Whitewash Pickling Stain. The top was then waxed with 2 layers of Miss Mustard Seed White Wax - and turned out beautifully.
The base was waxed with Miss Mustard Seed Furniture Wax and then one coat of the White Wax. We ended up using an entire container of white wax on this piece. It had a really nice effect on the top, but a negligible impact the rest of the dresser with the clear wax underneath.
The white wax has a greater effect if applied directly over the paint. If I were doing this piece again, I would apply the white wax to the areas I wanted accented prior to putting on the clear wax.
Oh, and by the way . . . this is what it looked like before . . .
Looks better now, don't you think?
This piece did not sell. Dangit! So if you're interested, and live close enough for delivery, just let me know!
Make something wonderful today!

That is a gorgeous piece. I can't believe it didn't sell. Someone will snap it up. Love the color combo! xo Diana
I love how this turned out. This is one of the prettiest grey and white pieces I've seen. I'd love to be at that sale.
Very pretty finish on your dresser! I've got a big green dresser I'm bumping into in our basement that I've got to repair and get it out of there! Maybe we could all get together and have a furniture swap. :)
Looking good! Hmmm....you have me thinking. I have too much furniture to fit in my shop but when I have a "yard sale" I never seem to sell it. So I can call it an estate sale? Maybe?
That turned out very pretty! I'm surprised it didn't sell..but I bet it will next time!
I like it!
It's a beauty! I'd put it in my booth, but it's a little inconvenient...
Great makeover, I really love the colour and the white wax. I'm sorry it didn't sell !
It turned out beautifully. Can't believe it didn't sell! I just had my first experience with ASCP and it's amazing. Love the colors!
Hugs,
Cecilia
I'm shocked that someone didn't scoop up that beautiful piece!!! Looks amazing, my friend!

Just love the French Linen and Old White combo - so pretty! I love how you painted out just a few of the details in white. Stunning makeover! I'm glad I found it over at the Wow Us Wednesday Party.

Karen I cannot believe this didn't sell, it's SO pretty. I clicked on this post because I need to exchange my ASCP Old White (too much) for another color and I still haven't used French Linen yet, although every time I see it on someone's project I love it. This piece looks special with the details in Old White.
