Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake

As I write this sentence I'm still trying to decide which thing I'm going to blog about.

I have pictures edited for 3 pieces of furniture and two recipes.

Thinking . . .

Thinking . . .

Recipes win out every time.

Actually I'm not going to give you the recipes.

I'm going to show my pictures and give you a link to the blogs where you can get the recipes.

Because their pictures - they're lots better.

You'll be impressed.

This is the cake I made for Valentines.

This Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake is FAN. Tas. Tic.

When I first looked at the recipe I thought it would be troublesome.

But it is not.

It does make a lot of messy pans.

But here's my tip.

Make the bottom layer. Refrigerate overnight.

Put the pans in the dishwasher and go to bed.

In the morning make the top two layers.

Run the dishwasher again.

It makes the whole thing - wait for it -

a piece of cake!

You'll notice when you go to the recipe on OMG Chocolate Desserts you'll notice that her middle layer was lighter in color than mine. I'm clueless as to why this is. It could be that her chocolate was lighter than mine????

I guess it makes the cake prettier when the colors are more ombre, but I don't see how it could have tasted any better.

I'm telling you - this cake is worth the calories.

Oh, - and she put chocolate shavings on the top of hers.

I had left over white chocolate, so I used that - finely grated - over the top.

It was pretty.

Now, since I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of girl,

And because this post is long enough already -

considering it doesn't even have a recipe in it.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow for the other recipe.

In the meantime,

Make this cake for your next special occasion.

And don't forget about my tip . . .

I was raised in a family of 7. We didn't have a dishwasher until sometime in grade school. We also didn't have room to clean anything but dishes in the dishwasher. I've lived under that oppression for 50 years now.

Last Thanksgiving I decided to USE my dishwasher. I think I ran it three or four times that day alone. Man, was that ever efficient! I couldn't believe how much easier it made everything.

We didn't even mind washing my platinum rimmed china by hand after dinner, because I wasn't completely burned out on the whole process from doing hand washing all day.

So the next time you have a bunch of dirty pans etc. from baking, put everything in the dishwasher and run it.

Then sit down

 and EAT CAKE!

I try not to bake because I am the one who eats most of any goodies. But, that cake looks amazing.

The cake looks delish. What a special cake that I will be making for our 45th anniversary.
I have a dishwasher but don't use it for washing dishes that is.
I use my dishwasher for storing my specialty pans, muffin pans, etc.
Makes for a great extra storage cabinet. I figured no need leaving the dishwasher empty when it could be used besides washing dishes

That cake looks delish! Please feel free to bring any cake you like the next time you come! We had 7 kids and never had a dishwasher. I hated washing dishes for 9 and have appreciated every single dishwasher I've ever owned since then!

Great dishwasher tip for sure, I'm like you and why save the dishwasher right? But that cake.....mmmmmmm.

I used to wash dishes by hand. It was 1980, with a newborn and two other girls under 6 when I heard on the radio that it was actually cheaper and more green to use the dishwasher vice hand washing. I actually had my hands in the water washing while listening. I haven't hand washed many dishes since.
